About God

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. God is one in being and exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit. All three are biblical forms of God Himself.

About Jesus

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Jesus was born of a virgin and lived a sinless human life. He then offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return someday to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.

About the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit also lives in every Christian. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He has gifted every believer. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.

About the Bible

The Bible is God’s infallible Word to us. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. It is the sole written authority for all believers.

About Human Beings

People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s Creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God, called “sin.” This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life.

About the Future and Eternal Security

Salvation is God’s prepaid gift to us, but we must receive it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by faith in Jesus Christ as God’s offering of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. We can have assurance of our salvation when we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith; a faith that believes with the heart, confesses with the mouth, repents with a transformed life, and is baptized (immersed) into Jesus Christ.

Key Scripture: Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; Romans 5:1; Acts 2:38; Romans 10:9-10

The Church is the body and bride of Christ on earth; founded on the Day of Pentecost, consisting of Christians everywhere. The Church is the gathering of the saints as God has instructed as the ekklesia (the assembly).

Key Scripture: Matthew 16:13-18; Acts 2:14-27; Hebrews 10:23-25

Jesus never asked His disciples to remember His birth. But he did instruct them to remember His death and resurrection. In fact, Jesus gave the church a visible reminder of His death. We call it the Lord’s Supper or Communion. Communion is a memorial and remembrance. It’s a proclamation and a weekly part of our worship service.

God has ordained that elders are to exercise spiritual, servant leadership and authority over the local congregation.

Key Scripture: Acts 20:28; 1 Timothy 3:1-7, 1 Peter 5:1-4

That Jesus Christ will one day return; at which time He will pronounce the eternal fate of each individual, both living and dead...the saved to eternal life in Heaven, the unsaved to eternal separation from God in hell.

Key Scripture: John 5:28-29; Daniel 12:2; 2 Corinthians 4:14
